The Museums of the Limfjord
In the museums of the Limfjord you will not only hear a good story, but also experience the real thing.
The local museums in the western part of the Limfjord, which are supported by the Danish Government, work with and for the special coastal culture of the Limfjord area from ancient times to the present. The exhibitions are housed in buildings that in themselves are an exciting part of the local cultural history, often situated in beautiful surroundings.
Several of the famous authors and painters of the Limfjord have a connection with the museums around the Limfjord. In several of the museums you will find exhibitions telling about their lives and their works, and in a few of the museums you can get a guided tour in the homes of the authors.
More experiencesApart from the museums, supported by the Danish Government, the Limfjord Land also contains a number of other exciting museums and attractions of interest. For example, you can experience them in connection with one of the Limfjord Tales: The Hessel Manor, the Wood Museum in Oddense, The Stone Age Centre Ertebølle, and the Museum for Religious Art in Lemvig.
