Ørslev Kloster is Denmark’s best-preserved nunnery from the Middle Ages,
and it is normally not open to the public. Therefore, this tale offers you a
unique opportunity to get behind the walls of the old nunnery and to learn how this building has changed througout its 800-year history. Today, it is a retreat
for authors, composers and scholars who find peace and inspiration here.

Limfjord Tale no. 10 Dueholm on Mors - monastery, manor and museum
This is the story about the monks belonging to the Order of Saint John who
founded a monastery on an islet close to the town Nykøbing in 1369. The monastery existed until the Reformation, when the Danish king took over
the buildings. The monastery was turned into a manor, and in 1909 the museum moved in. Today, the museum contains a "treasure box" of great stories
about the island of Mors and its people. Thursdays at 11 am., approx. 1 hour.
Limfjord Tale no. 12 - Jenle, the home of the poet Jeppe Aakjær and his wife Nanna
"Jenle" in Jutlandish dialect means "lonely", and it is the name of the farm
where the Danish poet Jeppe Aakjær lived together with his wife Nanna, a
carver. Here he wrote his poetry and social novels until he died 80 years ago. Many of his poems and songs are still very much alive and are an indispensable part of Danish everyday life. Today Jenle is a museum, open to the public.

Limfjord Tale no. 13 - The passage grave of Lundehøj
A passage grave is a large tomb from the Stone Age – and this passage grave is situated on a hill in southern Thy. Listen to a tale about ancient history and the technology of the people from the Stone Age, which forms the basis of this impressive structure. This tale is also about our ancestors’ idea of death and
their care for the dead of the family.

Limfjord Tale no. 14 - The manor Hessel
We visit Denmark’s only preserved thatched manor. The present buildings are approximately 300 years old, and today, the manor Hessel is a living museum with everything that belongs to an old farm milieu approximately 100 years
ago.

Limfjord Tale no. 16 - The Stone Age Centre Ertebølle
Here at the Limfjord, the people of the Stone Age settled down almost 7000
years ago. They were hunters and food gatherers, and a kitchen midden was found at their village with lots of food scraps. This Limfjord tale deals with our earliest ancestors and their exploitation of the natural resources.

Limfjord Tale no. 17 - The manor Hindsels
The manor Hindsels is situated in the north east corner of the peninsula
Thyholm. Its history goes back to the early Middle Ages, and since 1827 it has belonged to the Overgaard family. The present owner, Askov Overgaard, who took over in 1981, tells the story of the manor and takes you on a tour of the modern farm (pigs, plants, energy production).

Limfjord Tale no. 18 - Venø Church, Denmark's smallest church
In spite of the smallness of this church there is an abundance of good tales to
be told, e.g. about how it was built and about its relations to the manor
Volstrup. Listen to the anecdotes about the mad priest and about the priest
who disappeared from the priest plate. The visit to Venø Church may be combined with other activities on the island of Venø.
